London, Harry Potter, and Ireland vacation

London! Well, the country side near London Stansted airport...
Then we took a train to Liverpool Street.

This seems comforting...
The hotel was next to Kings Cross Station.
So we walked over to explore.

And saw platform 9 3/4 at the station.

We then figured out the bus system.
And rode to London bridge and walked to tower bridge.

Crossed the Thames river and decided to walk to Big Ben.

And found it!

Then kept walking to find the palace.
Got to see Churchill on the walk.

And some pretty churches.
And a few miles later, Buckingham palace!
And the royal guard.

Unicorns!
History...
Found the telephone booth to the Ministry of Magic!
And kept walking to another church. Had some fish and chips and continued the walk.
Found a bus and made it back to sleep before.......
Harry Potter!!

And at the end of another day full of walking, made it back to Kings Cross station and the hotel.

All this walking is causing blisters.. And blood...
But it was worth it. Around 20 miles over 3 days and as we wait for the bus back to the airport, we see a horseback patrol :)
Then Ireland!
We made it to the hotel and slept before waking at 5 am to go on a day trip to the Cliffs of Moher.
Stopped in a little village for breakfast and a chance to stretch our legs.

Then continued to Abbey Corcomroe.
The mason who built the Abbey were killed and they bodies are in the alter that is still inside the church. There is a hole where you can still see the bones inside.
A little Irish castle.
Then the Mini Cliffs.
And at last, the cliffs of Moher!!

It took my breath away! Literally, it's so windy and so amazing and beautiful!

Can we go back?

Cliffs that are hundreds of feet high and the waves crashing beneath you and the foam and droplets are still carried to you on the wind and with the force of the crashing wave. Incredible moment!

But nothing lasts forever, so be got back on the green tour bus and kept going.
And that night, my feet had a surprise for me. Blisters!
But those won't stop me! The next day we explored Dublin!
Met Oscar Wilde in a park.
Saw the castle in Dublin.

Drove by the poor people housing.
Visited the Guinness factory.
Saw the old jail.
Enjoyed the canal that had water in it for once since it's a tidal canal and rises and falls with the ocean tides.
A monument in the park.
And the gate surrounding the park.
Strolled beside James Joyce.

And decided to call it an early night and went back to the hotel.
Got up early and saw this restaurant.
And a bird eating from a giant hand.
The tallest monument in Ireland, spire of light, or something like that. It was never called the same thing twice.
The post office.
And watched traffic on the wrong side of the road. Note to self, London and Ireland, look right than left before crossing the street. Not left than right...
The English influence in Dublin. Trinity College.
Beauty from the top of a bus.

And we made it back to the Dublin airport to see my friend, M&M.
Alas, back to Germany to eat some chocolate frogs :)
And write with my new wand pen.
Then I made some bread for dinner.
Amy went home, so I decided to read. Angie had other plans.
She missed me and wouldn't leave me alone.so we took a nap.
Then I found a recipe for strawberry cake using fresh strawberries, including homemade cream cheese icing.
and I got some cool stuff in the mail!
